(DOWNLOAD for FULLSIZE)From a photoshoot for my Aburame Shibi cosplay (Shino's dad, also called Gen in America). I am very pleased to finally have some shots of Shibi in his proper element.
Sitting on a woodpile. I bet there are plenty of beetles hiding in there!

Oh that look purely awesome... I'm feelin quite jealous of you mad cosplaying skillz.
Do you mind if I ask you how you made the shoes? I'd want to do shoes like that for my Orochimaru cosplay, but I've got no idea how... (No need to answer this if you don't want to.)
But yeah, it's always cool to see the more minor characters cosplayed, and you've done Shibi's character great justice.

I made some Orochimaru shoes actually X3 (that cosplay is here: [link] ) I did them over some thick platform sandals so I'd be even taller and forced to walk flatfoot and kind shuffle creepy like he does hehe.
I make all my Naruto sandals over a base, like usually a little better than the 1.99 flip flops from Walmart but that kinda thing (slip in sandals with foam base). I try to find ones with either a stretchy slip in, or a horizontal crossbar, so I can just build on top and leave the internal support so the shoe is still COMFORTABLE and stays on my foot somewhat and the stress is NOT on the fabric on top that is just hot melt, tacked, and stapled into the soles.
Though with the Oro shoes I made my own crossbar with a webbing strap that I industrial stapled and hot melt glued into the soles. :'D
To get my foot in I use either a velcro close on the top, or a zipper up the back (like on these Shibi shoes or the Orochimaru ones).
