It's me!!! =O Yes that is more or less what I look like. Not bad for only 4 months of digital painting. I'm getting better.I made this for Roxanne74's contest- [link]
Fairy ref- This is the only stock I used as reference . No other outside references were used.
Model reference is myself.
I created some textures on the skin and background from my own resources to save time, but other than that everything else is painted by hand.

This is not a photo-manipulation or an over-paint. Nor was it traced. It is a digital painting painstakingly painted over the course of 2 weeks.

Well, that is almost a compliment. Yes I can actually draw free handed very well and I am good enough to get photo realistic. Thanks.

I love how people think realistic images are just too good to be true. Don't worry about it lithriel, all your fellow artist now what the deal is.

My internet connexion is very bad at the moment so i cannot see your step by step file for now, but I'll take a look for sure
One of my friends is beginning to do photorealistic things too, in my case I try not to. It's very nice but I don't really enjoy it when it looks too realistic. Because a lot of people do photomanipulation or a mix of digital and photomanip, and at the end it just look the same... so I prefer avoiding the confusion and making things less realistic
I hate doing portraits/humans, too, I prefer drawing monsters/creatures
But your work is beautiful, congrats again!

Yes, in my opinion the figure is the hardest things to draw. I myself take pride in my years of study of drawing the human figure. Once you get past that, drawing anything else is considerably easier.
And aren't we glad we don't all love to paint the same things? The world would be a bland place indeed if we did. Thank you for your comments.

Thanks! It was a lot of mindless scribbling and lowering the transparency of the layers, lol. And strangely enough, adding the silhouette of leaves on a barely visible layer helps. A person in real life doesn't have that much texture in the skin, but in a digital format it looks just right somehow.
Maybe I'll learn how to do it better some day.

I have been painting traditionally for years, and I know photoshop like the back of my hand. So the transition wasn't nearly as hard as it would be typically, but thanks.
I learn best by experimenting!
