Description 12x24" 30x60cm acrylic on hardboard

Just playing with paint with this one. It ended up rather more literal that I'd envisioned it. It's a very loose interpretation of a view overlooking my grandparents dairy farm, half a century ago. Started with the trees on the left, and after scraping most of their paint off, kinda' saw the the other clump of trees and the land stretching on to the right so just followed that idea the next day.Β

I like the just-abstract-enough red-blue color scheme here, makes this very one-of-a-kind. And the composition with that setting moon is perfect!Β

Thanks. Brighter, more intense colors than I'm comfortable using, but it turned out interesting.

You KNOW how i love the Fall and Winter pally,Β  this is wonderfull though i doubt there are trees down here that are as red as these in Autumn or even close,Β  Still it reminds me of those first few cool breezes that blow in down in Texas after broiling alive during the Summer!Β  Β Great artwork!Β

I rather doubt trees are this red up here either. Well, a few are, but all trees, like cats, are gray at night, so this is a rather fanciful painting. Boiling alive all summer or freezing your ass off all winter -- that seems to be the choice unless you follow the birds.

Your grandparents' farm...wow... so many memories at that farm, right?
Very very nice, the atmosphere looks amazing with those colors.

A cousin owns it now, so it is still in the family, but the small family farm is all but gone in this country -- strange to have outlived a way of life.

The trees don't make a lot of sense, but maybe they're catching the last rays of the setting sun. Who knows? Β Colors are deliberately different than what I normally would use.

strike while the iron's hot, so since I finally feel like painting, I might just as well paint, something -- or anything.

Different than my normal ones, anyways. But then, Β I think people like bright colors.

Thanks, I usually don't use such vibrant colors, and probably won't use them much in the future, but nice for a change.

You've done the trees very well here, the red colouration is very effective. The rest of the scenery comes to life behind the trees. The moon is just the cherry on top. Β Looks good, a good job.

I don't dare to use a the vivid colors you use in your work, and so this is just a deliberately odd painting for me. But then, right now, I'm in the mood for odd paintings.Β

Maybe refreshing would be a better choice, I don't think it odd at all, rather pleasing and a painting I would be happy to hang on my wall.
