same thing happened to me in PR once.
I got up late to use the bathroom and saw this dark thing on the sink, I flick the light on and see this huge water bug on the sink just chilling unafraid. I sleepily say good night, turn off the light and went back to bed. My bladder could wait.

I once said that to a huuuuuge hairy spider in my bedroom. It was so large, I didn't even know something like this was living in the colder parts of Europe. I just resisted to believe this was existing in the same universe as me!! D:
The next morning, there were only pieces of the large spider in her web and a thin and tiny little other spider was sitting there- I swear it was grinning happily at me! I won't EVER again underestimate any spider, not even small ones. If a small one can eat a huge one, who knows if it can't also eat me while I'm asleep....

Ha ha ha! Protip I got from an exterminator: pouring/spraying them with soapy water (MUST be sudsy) will kill them hygienically. They breathe through their exoskeleton, and the soap basically suffocates them. You also avoid building unwanted chemical immunity, and by not squishing them, you prevent other roaches from being attracted to the dead body (yeah, dead roach body parts attract MOAR roaches. XP)

I just egg my cats into going after the bugs and then go back to bed. No need to deal with it my self. They get entertainment and a midnight snack, and I can sleep easy knowing that it will not crawl into my bedroom later.
