Well to tell the truth, it was a bit left over from the previous setup, but I liked it so kept it on. Felt the blood added a little extra something. As for using the photos... no idea, they where just something fun to take and stuff.

It's a great shot. Very expressive.
I can definitely see how the beard thing happens, I had to do a double take myself, but it's a great shot nonetheless.

haha I think burning the area below her chin/between her hands would get rid of the beard appearance... I totally saw it too lol (just a suggestion)

I did'n think it was hair...it looks amazing as though she survived something terrible and made it out alive. No wonder you got DD. Again great piece of work makes me want to see more!

This is a really strong piece, and I don't think it looks like she has a beard, considering it's very obviously sand. Good work, and congrats on the DD!

For a second (when watching the thumb) I thought it's a picture of a girl merged with a man's face.
The dirt on her face looked like face hair (thumb only!) Full version solves my hesitations
