Ok I will admit, Queen Anora has what it takes to make a good Queen.
But there was this one incident regarding my Grey Warden that made me realise that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I personally like Anora, but the one thing you have to remember about her is that "she is her father's daughter after all." That includes the flaws as well as the virtues. Which is too bad, because I really like her and I do believe she is a good queen. (If she would just learn from her father's mistakes instead of repeating them or convincing herself "that doesn't apply to me" she would be great.)

Yeah, Anora has some fans. They're few and far between, but they exist.
What's funny is I don't understand the level of hate she's received. Granted, I know Anora's no saint, but then neither is anyone else in the game and yet she has more haters than any other character. (Arguably more than Howe or Loghain, who actually committed acts of treason, usurpation, desertion, genocide, torture, slavery, etc).
I went into the game expecting to hate her after reading all the fan-hate online, and yet I never really saw her say or do anything to warrant QUITE the level of loathing most fans have generated toward her. (At least no more than Howe, Loghain or Bhelen, who were all lying, cheating, backstabbing, tyrannical political nightmares if ever I saw them).
I don't know, maybe it's just me. >>;

you know, that is a very good point. When you consider all these people mentioned and all the crimes they have committed, Anora's misdeeds hardly compare. I think it might come down to the fact that when she portrays your Grey Warden given the choices you make it is on a more personal level. Her lack of intergety when she tried to put false accusations on my greywarden really ticked me off. but yeah that can be forgiven when you compare her to the others.

Y'know... at one point I did think Anora had what it takes to be Queen, mostly because Alistair didn't want to. But her skills are LEARNED. Alistair could easily learn those. Plus he has what she doesn't that actually makes a good ruler, a kind heart, always trying to uphold what is right (especially true when you meet him in DA2), and the balls to do it even if he has to be against people. Anora couldn't stand up to her father for her country... she had to do it behind his back. Loghain should have NEVER been able to become in control especially if there was already a queen. If she had backbone there wouldn't have been so much unneeded trouble.

I totaly agree buddy. I think this is what happens when you put your desire for power above love and goodness. She might of wanted Farelden to be prosperous but aslong as she was calling the shots.

If she had backbone, the game would have been a lot shorter and the wardens would have had help. But the hero wouldn't have been so famous XD And Alistair wouldn't be king... y'know in DA2 every time that guy comes up to you when looking for Anders outside that place to help Fereldens, when he says something like "Maker bless the rule of our King Alistair" I'm like "Damn straight." Every time XD

On one of my playthroughs, I did Morrigan then Leliana then I married Anora before doing Morrigan again and I FELT LIKE A BOSS AFTERWARDS.
