Man, dude you (Tobe) were so close. She finally saw your face and was thinking of how wonderful it was that you said you loved her in her dream. Aaand then you had to blow it by finally capturing her. When people are kidnapped, they try to get away from their kidnappers. It's a solid reflex. You are pushing her away by pulling her too close, you fool!

XP That'd be tough because I think they exist as wish fulfillment. A lot of people have moments where they wish they could act exactly as crazy as they feel, particularly when they're in love. (Not yandereness would ever actually help anything.)
But yeah, being yandere in that way usually permanently ruins a character for me unless they grow a guilty conscience and do some massive grovelling later at some point. Tobe gets a pass for now though because...well...because he's a villain. He's doing it to be a (murderous) jerk, and everyone involved knows that on some level. I don't know how to explain it but somehow its better to do something like that for villainy rather than love. Although it makes me sad that that straightforward villainy is what's probably going to destroy his chances with her.
