Mountain Lion puma concolor"the cat of one color and of many names"
puma & cougar, among these . . .
known as one of the most adaptable mammals on earth
and best kept at a respectable distance.
Taken at The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
She was in a large pit enclosure, made of heavy stone
in a mostly natural surrounding.
i definitley benefitted from the 10x digital zoom . . .

A friend of mine specializes in animals [in her art], and a lot of times assigns an animal to a person. She said that I'm a moutain lion/puma/cougar.. and seeing this photo just made me smile. Not because I believe its beauty is any reflection on me, but because it reminds me of those connections.. the deeper ones rooted in something more powerful than concrete or stone.
