Description

I doodled that Davy Jones in the upper right corner; the next moment my Discord friends and I were making an entire AU based on it.

There are screenshots of the conversation in this Tumblr post , but here are some concepts:

- Pirates of the Caribbean, but the entire thing takes place in a small port town (as can be guessed by the title).

- Most of the cast are kids playing pirate.

- No one knows where Jack came from, or if he has parents/a home, or what he's up to at any given moment.

- "This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost sent Captain Jack Sparrow to detention!"

- Jack the monkey is one of those long-armed stuffed velcro monkeys. It almost strangled Jack the kid pirate once.

- Elizabeth is the mayor's daughter, while Norrington is a schoolteacher. The whole marriage deal is replaced by Norrington and Elizabeth's dad trying to convince her to move up a grade or something like that.

- The "Curse of the Black Pearl" was something along the lines of Barbossa's gang stealing gold coin chocolates from a candy shop, then being banned until they paid it back by doing chores.

- They probably ditched Jack on a platform in the middle of a pond (instead of on an actual island).

- Cotton is a mute kid who speaks ASL, but when playing pirate, he only communicates via his squeeze-to-activate-voice-box toy parrot.

- Pintel and Ragetti are probably the type of kids to carry around ketchup packets and pretend they're bleeding.

- Some of the ships are toys or duck boats.

- At least one of the "nine pieces of eight" is a YuGiOh card.

- Instead of cannibals, they are chased by a group of rabid kindergarteners.

- The Royal Navy is replaced by the local harbor patrol, who are usually busy trying to keep the kids away from their motorboats.

- Beckett is a rich businessman trying to... I don't know, buy the area? He's considerably less "evil" than in canon, given his limitations as a civilian and that his foes are just irritating children who probably take all the guest candy in his office and aggressively Fortnite dance at him.

- Davy Jones being just a human is a possibility, but we thought it'd be fun if he and Calypso (the local witch) had a petty fallout and now he's a squid and everyone just rolls with it.

(Likewise, a friend suggested that Beckett wears a wig along with a completely modern business suit and no one questions it - though, unfortunately, I did not draw it.)

- The Kraken is a huge dog that Jones keeps on board to chase away the kids. He was forced to put it in a temporary shelter while he worked for Beckett, and all the kids came to laugh at it over the fence.

- Tortuga may or may not be an arcade.
