I like to think that after Lapis discovered that the Homeworld wasn't the same, she and Peridot made a plan to escape to Earth together ;3; But Jasper had to accompany as an escort. Which is why Peridot gets mad on the ship and says they need to check on the Kindergarten after they capture Steven. That's just my thing though ;3;
