Description
Sarah and Henry are engaged and living together, even though she is a rich man's daughter and he is a recovering drug addict. When Sarah is forced to go to one of her mother's stuffy parties, she begs Henry to go with her, but he refuses, uncomfortable around that sort of people due to his past. She is annoyed because she doesn't want to go either, and they have a fight before she storms off. At the party, Sarah chugs red wine and meets the slick captain Richard Norrington. He flirts with her, and as she gets drunker, she becomes more open to his advances, but when he tries to grope her, she pushes him away, pointing out that she is engaged. She stumbles out, and he is left plotting his revenge for her insulting him. The next morning, while Sarah is out shopping, captain Dick goes by the apartment and tells Henry that he slept with Sarah the night before. Henry refuses to believe it and tells the other man to leave, but when he is alone, doubt starts gnawing at him. To calm himself, he falls back on old habits and accidentally (?) overdoses. Sarah comes home to find him unconscious on the floor. She calls the ambulance, but before they get there, Henry stops breathing. She tries to do CPR, but he still dies. After collapsing into tears, Sarah goes to find Dick. She finds him and starts yelling, blaming him for her fiancé's death. He denies all knowledge, so she pulls out a gun. He tries to talk her down, but after some more arguing, she shoots him repeatedly, then turns and walks away. (You can choose weather or not you think she shot herself in the end.)
