It's strange to me to think that for a good part of my life hills like these have loomed over my existence. Standing tall and watchful over the land below them that is slowly changing and evolving. I used to dislike these hills all around us somewhat. That is until I moved away for a period of time. I then learned to miss them then. The shapes of them and how they seemed to look (at times) like huge plush pillows rolling away into the vastness of the landscape. How they seemed to look like guardians protecting us. I learned to miss them then after I moved away. Where the landscape seemed overly flat and closed in so tight (It's funny now to think that I even miss the flat land and closed in space). When I moved back, I then started to notice them more. I began to appreciate their beauty and how they seemed to reach up and touch the wide open sky. I know if I ever move again I will miss them.
