Description Koga for the Inuyasha TV series

One of my friends is a crazed Koga fangirl so I thought I'd try to draw him and this is the result.

I dont think it turned out all that great because the armor hes wearing and the shaded background look pretty bad I think I might have tried to rush it too much, due to the fact that I was supposed to be paying attention in class the whole time Yea, I was bad... but in my defense, the lessons weren't very important... just reviews

Anyways, if anyone can give me a few tips or pointers on how to improve this so that I dont make the same mistakes again please tell me

I think you get the feeling that the armor is flat because you made his shoulders so wide. Koga is a fairly thin charater so I would suggest trimming his overall width a bit and I think it would look a lot better. Everything else is perfect in my opinion.
