Description

This is stuff I was working on with design ideas I wanted to work on for a while. There was a hero character I wanted to make using this one hair & mask design I found, also wanted to redo this one hero design & fix up Licorice. These characters are all from the same world/universe.

Left to right:

Captain Starchild: Kenny was a fan of heroes & lived in a world were there are real heroes in places. Kenny had powers he started to notice show up & thought he could start his adventures as a superhero after some work. Unfortunately Kenny was in over his head as he learns the hard way that it's hard being a superhero especially since he had no experience fighting, had to hide that he's a vigilante(and cover up why he gets injured) & has no connections so he has to earn money for supplies(like repairing/replacing equipment/parts of his costume) let alone how expensive it could get. Eventually he got the hang of things(mostly), there were many times were he was close to quieting thanks to things getting overwhelming or questioning stuff in his personal life.

He eventually made connections & found support in some of the close by hero groups & was considered an up & coming star among the teen heroes. While he had some ups & downs he managed to become a hero that found his place in the world at least for a while. At some point Kenny learned he was possibly a starchild which might explain his hero name. Kenny is friendly but awkward as he's not use to what's happening around him & doesn't have many friends to be around. Despite his awkward & shy nature he does his best to be cheerful/friendly to people though can get easily upset about things when he thinks he messed something up especially when he feels guilt over something serious.

Comet: Gray or Comet as he's known is the sidekick/partner of a hero that's territory is a neighboring city to the one Captain Starchild lives in. Comet often shows up as some of the sidekicks/kid heroes show up in Kenny's town. Comet happened to be the one to help Kenny out with his hero career at some point after the two met, in fact Comet happens to also be a starchild & was the one to help Kenny find out. Comet was the one that helped Captain Starchild the most out of the other heroes his age & became a close friend. Asides from a few others Comet has been Captain Starchild's biggest support.

Gray is outgoing, smiles a lot & likes to observe things or do scouting/paroling. He's a little bit like Kaworu from Evangelion in personality & behavior.

Nightstar: At some point when Gray got older he retired the Comet alter ego & became Nightstar. It's been a few years & Nightstar has gone from sidekick to partner & part of the older heroes' group. While he was always a bit outgoing he kind of grew into himself a bit more. He can have a bit of sass & still has that teasing but kind of Kaworu like personality.(dunno how to explain it) While work as a hero always has it's moments it can feel a little lonely without Captain Starchild due to an incident that led to his unfortunate retirement & disappearing. Nightstar often looks at a section for Captain Starchild in the hero HQ in his city, only he & a few other senor members know about Kenny's whereabouts. While Nightstar does a lot of crime fighting he mostly does info digging & stuff for work.

Gray: Gray tries to balance his personal & hero lives but sometimes he ends up bringing hero work "home" to his personal life. Gray sometimes hangs out with Kenny where he's relocated as some senor members asked him to keep an eye on him from time to time as part as a way to help certain retired members & also cause he likes being around Kenny. Kenny might not remember but they've managed rekindled their friendship. As much as Gray wishes to tell his best friend about old times & what he's up to it's for the best he doesn't bring it up.

Lycurgus X: Lycurgus or Licorice as he's nicknamed is a mystery being that started showing up at some point when Kenny disappeared one day from where he located after what led to him retiring. Gray/Nightstar seems to recognize his mask & asks for help when needed. Licorice is the current king of a mystery forest near Kenny's last location before disappearing, his name is passed down from the last who he got the crown from by defeating the last king some time back. Due to issues that led to Licorice losing parts of his memories thanks to a traumatic incident he doesn't remember how he became king. Licorice is a shy but friendly person that often struggles to be around people he's not use to. He wears a prosthetic mask due to scars from the incident that made him lose his memories.

The people living in the forest he was made king of(along with many like Gray that know about him) respect Licorice especially as he does his best to help out & is friendly to them as best as he can. The people are also protective of him & try to argue against people trying to summon him as sometimes people can summon the king for help. It's not because he can't fight as he's a strong fighter but mostly out of respect/because they're protective since he's a kind person that doesn't need to be dragged into things unless as a final resort.
