Description
The canister on the back of the owl was tight, the special wax cylinder inside lined and full of information. Slowly, Cyber-Works removed the precious object, slipping it into a protective case, and dropping it into his pocket. His familiar, the clockwork owl, Windsor, was good at it's job of spying and gathering information. And Cyber-Works knew that information was valuable. Removing a fresh cylinder, the man pressed it into place, winding up the phonograph that would inscribe the recorded data onto the wax.
"Go now, Windsor," he said, giving the owl an almost affectionate pat. "Take up position in the palace. I'm sure the Emperor is up to something, and I'm curious to find out what it is."
The owl whirred and clicked, spreading it's wings to take off. Cyber-Works watched as the familiar shrank into the distance, smiling. Unconsciously he reached into his pocket, fingers closing on the case. There were plenty of people out in that wide wild world who would pay through the nose for the information he possessed. It was just a matter of finding out who would be the highest bidder...
