Description I'm working on illustration some of Aesop's fables, for a project I'm desperately late on. -_____-''

That being said, this new direction has been really interesting. I used a lot of photo reference, granted... but I think I'm going to invest more time in drawing animals, even though I'm not expecting these will get much attention. Point is, it's a different technique, and quite refreshing! And fun. Stretching out my creative muscles a bit.

Can you guess which fables these pictures are from? ^_^

(And yeah, drawing that donkey made me want to cry.)

The Donkey and the Grasshopper's moral is only do what is appropriate for you to do; The Wolf and the Lamb's moral is that the tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny, and it is useless for the innocent to try by reasoning to get justice, when the oppressor intends to be unjust.

These are really cute! Aww, that poor little donkey. I've never been much good at animals, but these look pretty awesome.

These... are fables I am not familiar with! D8 How is that possible! I must investigate now!

I love the sepia tone. The shading and style really gives them their own artistic value while still captive to a child. I approve and I would love it if you would take the time to post more of the pages!

Sorry for the late response hahaha, but thanks very much. For your info, these fables are: The Ass and the Grasshopper, and the Wolf and the Lamb.

The wolf ends up eating the lamb... T___T

FABLES ARE SO MEAN

I wish I could remember any of Aesop's Fables. I think the only one I VAGUELY remember is one that has to do with a spider. <_< But, either way, these two pictures are very lovely.

Love the look of that grasshopper!! Great work! I don't know, I'm a TOTAL BUG-CHICK! Love spiders too! I just think they're just neat-o! I always thought I was a black-widow in another life, because the men that I meet I would love to eat them up and feed them to my family. No, but seriously...

I'm taking a stab at the wolf and the lamb that you drew are from "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"?? I know I'm probably TOTALLY wrong, but hey, gotta give it a shot.

The one with the donkey kind of reminds me of Pinocchio....But it's about a donkey that wants to make the sound of a cricket but he can't survive on dew and air alone. And I know that's The Wolf and The Lamb, but it appears yours has a better outcome. XD

I don't know the ass's and cricket's fable, but I do know the sheep and wolf one. You drew the animals well - I like their expressions.

I can't say I know the fables at all (I haven't heard many of them since I was very little), but I can see why the donkey made you so sad! Hopefully you drew the adorable little lamb afterwards to help cheer yourself up!
