I just spent my whole morning and afternoon working on this, and I have to say I'm pretty pleased.This is my first attempt working with oil pastels in a couple of years. The last time I worked with them was my Spirit Bear picture that I completed for a school project. (It's in my gallery somewhere.)
This is far from perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied with the results. Though I do wish I could have found a way to fix the TARDIS's sign...Suggestions will be welcomed!

This was my first time breaking in my set of oil pastels that I got for my birthday a couple years ago, so I haven't done that much either. Thanks so much for the advice, I'll have to try it whenever I get some free time...
And as for the quote from the end of the Eleventh Hour, that was the moment I fell in love with the Eleventh Doctor. For the most of the episode I was thinking, "This guy is doing a really good job," but at the end it was clear Matt was ready to take over from David and do his own thing...

Hmm I'm not very familiar with oil pastels anymore (learned to use them in school.. but that was a long time ago.) But if memory isn't failing me you could do a thick layer of yellow, and then cover it with black, and then kind of scratch out the letters carefully. (Removing the black and leaving the yellow under it.), but I'm really not sure if we did that with oil pastels, but think it was. (try on a scrap paper?)
I suppose that doesn't help right now though, but still a very nice piece, and I really like the text at the bottom.

Thanks! That's really what attracted me to the reference picture in the first place, the color! It had such an awesome sunset with the two moons just beginning to show, it just looked like a place the Doctor would be running around, battling aliens!
