Description Model number seven in a seriesΒ for This time I've reworked the Cicada design by combining aspects from different styles of the 40 ton scout 'mech. For this render I gave it a sprinting and resting pose.

I had to mention it. But its legs are wrong. The Cicada isnt a chicken legged mech.

This isn't chicken legged. It's dog legged. It has a forward bending knee with a strut that juts backward to the "ankle" before going down into the foot.

Also, it isn't wrong because it's how I chose to do it in my reinterpretation. By reversing the upper joints, it gives the legs a more aestheticly pleasing look. This design gives the overall mech more stability since it's so top-heavy. Even then I designed it so that the upper leg could be reversed and position the parts to match the original 3025 design.

I think the reinterpretation of the Cicada's legs are TERRIFIC, and make much more sense for a runner than chicken legs!

I mostly didn't like how the Cicada's mechanics were designed when it came down to the legs. It looked and felt awkward to me, plus the original design itself is very top-heavy. As evident by how easily my lead mini tends to fall over. My design is a bit more functional, and to me, looks better over all.

Thanks! I'm really happy with how this one came out. Getting the legs to work right was a real challenge.Β
