Zack was born with the name Jason when his parents were still in their late teens. His father is an alcoholic, who resented him, and his mother was a caring woman, who protected Zack from his father. When Zack was 10, his mother passed away during a bad flu outbreak, and ran away from home when his father's aggression finally turned to him. He decided to break away from his old life by renaming himself Zack Wilson.
Zack spent 6 years living on the streets, obtaining money for food through bottle returns and pickpocketing. Over the years, Zack has become great at sleight of hand, but has become distrustful of others and refuses to get close to people. Although he is a pickpocket, Zack never steals from those who can't afford to be robbed, nor will he take anything that is irreplaceable.
Zack is often abrasive to his peers and people of authority. Despite this, his attitude is gentler towards young children. He'll always acknowledge his terrible behavior, but often fails to see the good in himself.
