Seriously. It isn't. Cobbling together bits in a flash game that was designed by ANOTHER ARTIST then claiming it's your SUPER KAWAII DESU OC doesn't show any signs of creativity. Also commissioning art of said character isn't good either - it means someone is making money off someone else's designs which is kind of illegal.I have used dollmakers in the past to gather ideas but I never post what I do using them on dA unless I have to. If I do submit them, it's to scraps.
Seriously, I'd honestly rather see a poorly drawn stick man than something done on a dollmaker. At least drawing a stick man means YOU TRIED TO MAKE SOMETHING.

I couldn't agree more, dude. I've seen way too many Azalea Dolls pictures on here and it really annoys me how many likes and comments they get compared to people who actually take the time to draw their OCs considering it's not original artwork. Like you said, if you can't draw and need inspiration for your characters, it's fine to use a dollmaker as a starting point, but if you post stuff from there as your own, it's just plain uncreative. And to be completely honest, most of the stuff created on Azalea Dolls looks kind of the same.
