2003 - This is a fantasy symbol for a cleric of Rahs, that is a fantasy goddess in a live-rpg setting. I did it for a character I thought I'd have played, but never did.It's 9 cm long, and meant to be a pendant (hence the string).
The bone is a vertebra of a sheep, which I found while I was walking in the countryside with a friend of mine (we discovered a place - sort of a cave - where shepherds threw the carcasses of dead sheeps, and I came back home with a backsack full of bones, and even two skulls. Yes, I know I'm a bit weird!
)Anyway... I worked on the vertebra, carving, levigating and modelling it, and adding certain white synthetic clay in order to create a place for the gem.
The gem is a beautiful piece of glass, one of those they use for decorated belts and bags.
I did the snake with a 2-components clay for sculptors. It's called Milliput and it's a very good stuff, you can make tiny details with it, with little effort (apart time and lots of patience).
I built the snake around the bone, because once the clay dries, you can't change its shape anymore, not even slightly: this was the hardest part: to keep all that thing in position, while pressing a little mould on its surface to carve the skin, and paying attention that all the rest wasn't pushed flat meanwhile.
In the whole, it took about 12 hours of work and it's quite a unique piece.

I thank you deeply, but then the only way to get over the problem of procratination (which is mine, as well as of a lot of other people) is to give yourself schedules, and do all that is possible to stick to it... and not to give yourself 100 tasks all at once. One at once. Step by step you get everywhere, if you never stop.

Awww, eh eh eh, I tend to do the same! Sometimes I must tell myself "ok, not you can't check anything on the internet before you have finished this or that"... it's so hard, I could waste whole afternoons going here and there without actually doing anything! Lol!

you know, when I don't have free time I have so many ideas and so huge isnpiration and will to do things, and I promise myself to do these things when I have free time - during holidays (=now) and when I have free time I submerge into this strange busy-lazy state. Because I have so many things to do and I'm so overwhelmed by this awareness that I do nothing -___- but what can I do, I can force myself to do soem things, sure, but inspiration I had when I didn't have free time doesn't come back (it does when I find fitting music, but not always) and I know you're right about systematicness .__. blah, sorry to rant you so much

As about how to get inspiration back, I guess it's something personal, different for each one, but I think that when I can't get it, and I feel exactly as you described, it's because my heart/mind isn't free... like oppressed by the "obligation" of things to do... even by the feeling that I "must" do art... so that I end up with a refusal, sort of a block.
It generally helps me to force myself to "do nothing" for some hours, and fill my time with computer games, music, movies, etc.
