Description Well, this is my very first attempt at using a tablet. I colored it with a mouse though. Using a tablet to draw is hard.... that's why my line art on this looks a little squiggly. I guess 10 years of drawing with a mouse has made it easier than a tablet for me.

This is Malborn from Skyrim. Here's a screencap of him [link] . He's a woodelf in the Thalmor embassy, about to lead the Dragonborn into the kitchen (the door behind him). I tried to make the lighting from two sources (the yellowish indoor candlelight, and the white light from the window).

Love this, as well as your fanfiction for him. It's annoying that so little people like him, I find him adorable. And I'm certain that the only fanfiction for him is yours, pity, but I may write one myself. 
I was wondering if you were going to continue after chapter 11, probably not by now but it's worth the ask. Never too late to return.

Thank you so much. He's definitely one of my favorite characters. Sorry, I'm not planning to finish the fanfic, because it's been so long since I played Skyrim, I don't think I could do it justice. But I can tell you how I planned for the fanfic to end. When Alduin injures the Dragonborn, Malborn puts aside his fears, and becomes the hero that saves the world. He does it because Elsa's love gave him the courage.

I like Malborn ever since I met him. I and my trusty Creation Kit are in works of creating alternate version of him as follower/marriage candidate. Wish us luck.

My bro! I'm playing a rolling a Bosmer who escaped a purge and is out for revenge. Did not stop reloading until I got this mofo out alive. I wish they made him a follower instead of having him run off. He would have been a good character for them to use to go into a bit more detail about the sacking of Valenwood which the Thalmor try to cover up with propaganda. Also so curious about the story behind his name, if it's his birth-name at all. Would have liked to make this guy a steward and protect him.

I haven't done commissions in years, but I could do one for you. Using my old prices, would be $30 for it to be this detailed and have a background. If you don't want a background I can drop the price down to $20. Send me a note with several screencaps of your character from different angles so I can have a good idea of what he looks like. Let me know what sort of pose you'd like and clothing, or if you want a close-up of the face like this picture. And what sort of background. I have paypal, but if you can't do paypal mailing a check is fine too.

I love Malborn Your fanart and fanfic freaking rock. I wish there were more, no one else on the internet cares for this character in particular. I too married him with console commands. Even made him a follower, though the only way he acts like one is he will hold items for me and will sit wherever I tell him. I did a separate save so I could see him off to Morrowind for my own satisfaction..had to save him from 2 enraged frost trolls. Then he disappeared forever Summoning him (spawn command) will result in a random naked male Bosmer who wears the same name, but looks nothing like him. Anywho, I'm interested to see more of the fanfic! Maybe more fanart perhaps? :>

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who likes Malborn He's my favorite character. I've also noticed the spawn command does make a different Bosmer, so I use a different code to summon him (the one that moves npc's without duplicating them), and it works. I've brought him to Sky Haven temple like in my fanfic Actually, alot of my fanfic I actually did in the game. For instance, I actually walked my character on foot through all of the roads walked on during my fic (with Delphine and Esbern part of the time, and occasionally summoning Malborn). Oh, speaking of my fic, I just uploaded chapter 11. I had written it earlier today, but fanfiction.net was being crappy, and not letting me upload. Only a few more chapters to go, and it'll be done.
I totally want to draw more fan art of him, when I can find time. Maybe a scene from my fic. I don't know yet. I've been trying to commission other great artists to draw him, but they're very busy.

I did the same thing!! It only teleports him to my location, and then he makes his rather slow journey back to Windhelm if there's no battle (and sometimes I have to walk him back because there are frost trolls and saber cats afoot). I usually do it in my house in Whiterun, so he can give me the imaginary shop's earnings and be on his merry way

Btw, What I like most about your fanfic is that it makes perfect sense with the timeline of the story. You even keep most of the dialogue. I'm afraid I ran into a little bit of spoiler in the latest chapter, buuut I'll live That's what I get for agreeing to run errands for every peasant that stumbles up and asks, instead of following the main storyline.

Oh yes, and because I'm so insanely obsessed with this game, I've picked up character drawing again (which I haven't done in ages) and will definitely do some of my own fanart, most likely of this character.. only with my own Dovahkiin I may not be much of a great artist lately, but I can certainly try I'll keep a look out for your stuff as well!

Yay! Someone else who likes obscure Elder Scrolls characters I just escaped from the embassy with him and Etienne yesterday. Luckily they were both smart enough to let me handle the troll. It's a pity you can't marry him. I rather like him even if he wasn't exactly grateful that I saved from the Thalmor.

Actually you can marry him if you use the console commands. He's one of the characters that the marry console command actually works on. I married him that way. If you freed him from the embassy, he should be at the New Gnisis Cornerclub in Windhelm. Make sure you never finish his Windhelm quest, or he'll leave Skyrim. If you marry him, he'll still live at the tavern, but he'll say all the cute marriage lines like "Hello my love, back from some adventure?". Here's screencaps of the wedding... [link] [link]

Cheeky expression, love it! He's an awesome character. I didn't have much difficulty saving him. It was Etienne that kept dying from that frost troll; Malborn only died once with the Thalmor guards. I love your story by the way on ff. Anyway great work! Is he your fav npc in the game?

Sweet! Actually Wood Elves are probably my least favorite race. I suppose in Skyrim they are more balanced but in Oblivion and Morrowind had such flimsy health...

Thanks! I also saved him and encountered him in Windhelm. I killed the Thalmor assassin outside of Windhelm, then I used a console command to marry Malborn. But he won't move to my house, he's still in that tavern.

Holy crap, I've not found him in Windhelm yet. How perfect, though! My Bosmer is a Stormcloak. I like that the writers had the sense to send the Bosmer rebel there for safety! <3 I feel like it kind of reaffirms my thinking behind my Bosmer's allegiances.

I think you have done a great job, and not only for a first try! He's impossible not to recognize. You might get into drawing with tablet later with practice, I feel it to be more comfortable for some reason(more intuitive perhaps?)

I just escaped the Thalmor Embassy very recently, and I'm very sorry to say that I couldn't save him. He wasn't particularly sympathetic to me, but I felt sorry for what he has gone through, and respected him for sacrificing himself for this cause. RIP Malborn.
