I decided to model the locomotive from Don Bluth's "Anastasia" for G scale model railroading. I have no idea why but I think it's a nice looking engine. The model besides a few parts like the buffer beams, wheels, and other detail parts is scratch built and one of a kind. It runs on a rechargeable battery and also has sound. I built this a year ago but decided I should share it with the community here, either those who like model trains or the movie Anastasia.Because it's a fictional locomotive I decided to omit certain details that would exist on a real steam locomotive and kept it based on the visuals in the film.

You could explain the film's use of it as a "Hey, we have some spare leaf springs, and they don't fit in the tender's toolboxes." sort of idea.

If I had a million dollars I'd see what you'd be willing to let me run her for, but G-scale isn't really my thing, and also I'm poor.

From Anastasia?Β That's nice and I do remember the movie a lot.Β I even remember there was a little battery powered train set based on this when Burger King had it as part of their Anastasia kids meal toys.

Anastasia is my top favorite non-Disney animated film. I actually own both the battery train set as well as the exploding baggage car with Dimitri.Β

I can't wait to see it, I've seen you're 3D locomotives and I'm impressed! I don't know if you've seen this but it may help you. It's a collection of production drawings from the Don Bluth collection and if you scroll through you'll find the locomotive. It's what I used in my project.
