I learnt so much from this!
I really liked the picture of Leaf in my 'Following Lo' piece (See above link) and decided to animate him.
It’s simply 10 frames– but trying to get those 10 frames to cycle round so that it could repeat proved a little tricky.
It was tempting to expand out to more frames to add a little more variety, but there’s aspirations to use this sequence as a sprite for a app game so the simplicity was a necessity.
OH! And I've already finished a background that he can run through... will post it up soon ^___^
PROCESS
I took the line art from my follow Lo piece (See link above... Déjà Vu?) and recoloured the Leaf character in a more simplistic way to aid animation.
I’m probably doing this the stupid way – but I just create 10 different images as I normally would:
Traditional pen to paper for the line art, scan the piece in and colour using photoshop CS5.
Then, once I am happy with the 10 images, I put them into “Easy GIF Animator” to sequence them and save it as a gif.
