NOTES

This is Riannon (A.K.A Tsunami), my vampire hunter ^__^
I created her year and years ago (back in 2000) but a good description of her is (nowadays) a water bender - sort of. The water only maintains a form while she's in contact with it - So she can't control water from afar and if she threw one of her water knifes a knife at you, you'd just get splashed in the face ^___^

I just love the Idea that she could swing up with a sword, down with an Axe, round with a spear and then block with a shield (For example). Thought she favours a whip and dagger.

She is at various points in the story, Tobias' greatest threat, uneasy ally, doting Mother and finally protective Sister...

Been working on this one for some time. After completing my 'Xavier dash' Animation, I wanted to try my hand at something a little more dynamic. Though I liked how the 'Xavier dash' piece came out, it was, by necessity, fairly static (though clearer that this piece - again, driven by necessity).

I've put a great deal of work into this, and it went through no end of tweaking (And I found tweaking just a little movement, caused a snowball effect that would take quite a lot of time and effort)... but I'm pleased with how it came out.

Once again - an amazing learning experience...

PROCESS

This piece is 55 individual frames...

These few seconds took me about 2 weeks (I clocked up 55+ hours!)
Good new is I learnt enough to say confidently that my next effort will be quicker!

I started with the sketch and found, after a few trials, that I wanted the action to move so swiftly, that I could get away with fairly unpolished work.

I sketched out the main poses, and created interim images dependent on swiftly I wanted the movement to progress from 1 element to the next.

I then sketched out a fairly basic background and coloured the whole lot in Photoshop CS5.

Once all the frames had been produced, I then used "Easy GIF Animator" to save them as a gif.

Woooooooooooooahhhhhhh! 55 individual frames? That's craaazy! I wouldn't have that amazing patience and determination! Her action's positions are greeeat! I love the retreat jump she does and the way she mooooves! She is so fast! I also think her running motion background is awesooooome, you motion effects are always AWESOME Luke, I can see them clearly in Rakelda's jump and in Lo Strike and here! I love it, it's really anime/fightgame like, it remembers me of street fighter motions, so cool, congratulations for such a hard work! I am amaaaazed, love the characters design and her outfit, specially her face marks and her beautiful spear! Congrats, dear!
