It was going to be blue but I figured the colour would obscure the black lines.Might I add the left wing is the failure of my life, and looks as if it has been run over?

You should do an intricate stippling of a bird, it looks absolutely amazing when finished. then you could potentially color over it with paint or colored pencils

Interesting idea, I find I have very little patience for stippling though. I've got a short attention span. I'd love to see you do it though, if you'd like. If you ever do, send me a link?

P.S.S. I'm still awaiting on a bird water colour. Anything birdy and water coloury. No pressure. But I can't paint and you quite obviously can.

Failure of Life??? I think not. I'm such a sucker for birds. I'm not sure why, but there is just something about them. Really good portrayal though, and I personally think it is better without all the colour. It suits the paper well and really stands out.
P.S. I met Kathryn's birds again today, they are so cool. One is lime coloured and the other is lemon coloured but with flecks of blue by their heads.

This is fantastic! I think you got the flair of the wings and tail just right. I like the sepia tone with just a touch of blue and white.
