Hey! Is that Sandy Wachs' 56 Kustom F-100? I KNEW I've seen that thing before... unless someone totally ripped his off and made an exact duplicate. I havent seen it with the pinstriping though, so that's what threw me. Those guys down at Burbank Choppers sure have quite a racket going, I'd do anything to be able to be part of a club like that.

As for the photo, another thumbs-up for the composition and angle of the framing. It looks as though there about to race... if it werent for the parking-space lines between them, I'd believe it. Good job.

Unfortuntely for me, I hail from Aurora, Illinois... about as far from any Kustom Culture as one can get. I've seen Sandy's truck before because I was introduced to Burbank Choppers on that Rides show in TLC, when they built the "Bad News" Model T. Even since then I've been nuts about finding everything and anything to do with thier club and the "old-style" Kustoms. I was totally floored to find out that all these guys have regular day jobs, like a graphic artist, and build these amazing machines in thier garage on the weekends. I would take a Kustom like thier's over any Foose or Boyd Coddington car in the world.
I am beginning to get engrossed in the whole culture now, and want to take a few classes at the local college to get some illustration skills and hopefully work on making a career of Kustom Art and Pinup Art, since, as of now, I haven't any monetary funds or mechanical skills to warrant starting my own Kustom. But one day I may make the move out to Kalifornia and then I'll know I've made it!

Sweet ass picture, man. I love it... you've got some of the coolest cars down there in So-Cal. I've always loved the canted headlights in those 50's Ford trucks... they look so sweet.

You got a good angle in this one. This one has some starkingly bright, bold colours. Looks really great! I love that blue and that red. And I think all those tribaly sort of decals on these cars look really sharp. Very nice shot. Nice palm tree. Damn you and your nice weather.
