That must have been painstaking! What program did you use? If you used photoshop, the pen tool makes really good smooth lines if you want to read up a few tutorials.
The detail on the horse's legs is very nice. The definition on knee and fetlock, etc. is quite good. I think maybe trying a smaller brush for some of the shading might give you more freedom for shading details.
