This green knife is so beautyful. I don't know how to say it, but those terraced steps of her and the arc of them is delicate. The colour of the metal is strange, but new thus insteresting for me, and the whole curving of the knife gives me a feminine impact, so I can understand why is it a She. it resembles me to a shell. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> The blue, arrow-ended one is more masculine, but it is a bit overpatterned for me, so the original shape of the metal loses its visibility due to the crowded patterns. While, I love the shape of both knives. The green one is better to watch because of the colour and controlled patterns, while the shape of the blueone is more streamlined, so she is also a little - but dangerous - queen.e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
For my ratings: I don't know if they reflect a real point of wiev or anything, but because this is the first time I've seen such a knife, for me it is absolute original.. Technique: I have no word to say in this question since the strongest metal I've met is copper wire. ^.^
As for the impact, the blue one caught my attention and I froze in that instant, so I think it was a good impact, and love for the first sight.
I can't give you advice or any useful opinion other than that: keep up, and be glad that you are skilled enough to create artifacts in this field!

I would say that I'm definitely in the 'Opposite' camp to the reviewer 'Fishbertus'. I think that because you predominantly create knives, it shows in your work and ability to come up with GREAT designs and 'INCREDIBLE' finished pieces! The fact that you aren't doing a lot of 'other things' (Rings, Axes, Jewelry, etc..) is a 'good thing' in my opinion, as there is WAY too much mediocre work out there today...
The MAKO is hands down, one of the most beautiful knives that I have personally seen and although I like the patterning in 'Avatar' a bit better, this knife would be my first choice. One of the first things the viewer see's is the 'green' color and it absolutely 'Pops' and gives the knife that 'unique' feeling right from the get-go. The other thing is the 'continuity' of the 'Damascus Grain' is superbly done and really quite beautiful and as a result, pulls it all together. The Return and Finger guard are nice and obvious and it also looks like it would fit better in my hand and I'm more comfortable with a bigger finger guard for 'Manipulation' and 'Safety' reasons. Finally, the graduated, upturned spine and tip is the reason that I wouldn't hesitate to pick this one over another knife. Once again speaking for myself, the 'Traditional' end works much better for my particular needs VS something like the 'Avatar'.... Having said that, I would have BOTH knives in my collection and would likely 'play' and 'show off' both knives Frequently!
Cheers,
/Joe..

I absolutely love this blade, and would gladly pay $400 to have this in my collection, had I the cash to drop on it. I especially love the... I'm not sure I have the right descriptive for the way you clipped the point, so I'm not going to bother trying, but it's unique and just goes so well with the rest of the design.

Thanks, man! It was definitely a beautiful knife and left my shop much quicker than I had wanted it to. I ended up putting the clip on there randomly when I was close to finishing it, because I thought it would look better and I'm glad that I was right. Sometimes it doesn't work out that well. lol

lol. Handle files, needle files, and sand paper. That's what I use. Takes about a week to two weeks for me to carve. Not to make the knife, just to carve the wings. Depending on which type of style wing I'm doing it will either be 2 days or 4 days to carve one wing. I do a sketch of the wing, then I use files to file away the metal. Then I go back over the scratches from the file with sanding paper.
Its the same process that I used to make the tutorial on here. A hand full of files, 36 grit, 80 grit, 120 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit, 600 grit, 800 grit, 1,000 grit, and 2,000 grit hand sand paper. That's how I go about it.

Words can't even describe how epic your work is. I hope that I can someday achieve a level of metal working skill and knowledge such as yours. But untill then, do you do tutorials? If not, its ok. I can imagine it takes a little more than a while to forge one of those masterpieces *obvious understatements*
