Very aptly named. o.O
Also, I believe the blade parts to be quite useful for slashing and chopping motions, so I would definitely NOT want someone coming close with this thing, or worse, a pair of these. >.<

A pair would be even more lethal ... and make one awesome bad ass looking cartoon character too!!!!! LOL

Exactly what I had in mind. Either cartoon or LARP - or simply as a description for the local surgeon in a P&P-group. o.O
Awesome quote: "You wanted badass - I give you bad ass!". >.<

LOL ... Love the quote! I think I might have to talk to my comic book artist about creating this character.

Found the video link in the comments (link in the descritions still isn't working ), IΒ thought it looked like a wicked knife before but seeing you actually hold it made me realize a) exactly how long it was, and b) how much I'd want to have my hand/arm protected in a knife fight. Having the handle mostly behind the blade looked mostly like a stylistic thing before, but now just seems like a damn good and practicalΒ idea.
Β
Also, that notch in the middle. Didn't really clue in to how much damage that could cause until the video. Owch.

You know, it's the exotic weapons that people don't believe can work, end up working the best BECAUSE people just don't get them. I'm really enjoying your art.

You know, it's comments from people like you that actually think about what they are seeing that makes it all worthwhile. Thank you very much for your insightful and gracious comments.

I love the way you incorporate the flow of a surgical instrument into this design. The handle is extremely similar to orthopedic bone hooks or large abdominal retractors. When I first saw this picture I took a few moments trying to figure out which instrument you modified to make the handle before I realized it was custom.

Your blades are beautifully forged. The fact you take into consideration how they would be used is also impressive.
I love sharp things X3
Keep it up!

Thank you so much for your comments. My view of the pieces I make is that they must function as what I have designed otherwise they aren't weapons, but just pieces of art. I try to incorprate art into my pieces as well, but they must function as they were designed.

Thank you. I felt that to demonstrate the function of Mad Surgeon, a basic concept of knife combat was necessary, and I'm glad you understood it.

That's cool. I was trained by an army Major, who has worked with Special Forces, so that's where I get my training from. I wanted to actully pad up with Bob and do some actual combat, instead of just demonstration, but when it came to shooting I didn't see the need to get all rowdey and agressive. I think what we did was sufficient.

Wow. Looks like a weapon from some fantasy story. I would like to see a case for that, it must be as interested as the knife.
