It's a little bit like that scene in Raiders of the Lost Arc when Indy is injured and doesn't want Marion to touch him, and she says, "Damn it, Indy! Where doesn't it hurt?!" He defiantly holds up his elbow and replies, "Here!" So she kisses it. And then he gets the idea.
