Description "The wedding day was drawing near, and it was during my final fitting that I finally told him that I didn't want to marry him, that I knew who he really was, and that I had no intention of giving myself to him on our wedding night. He flew into a blind rage and dragged me up to the attic, locking me inside. He left me alone there for three days. On the fourth, he showed up, a pistol in one hand and a glass of poisoned wine in the other. He told me I had a choice - starve slowly, drink the poison, or let him shoot me right then. I... I feared the pain, both of starvation and of being shot, so I took the poison, and died there in the attic."

This picture needs a little more back story than some of the others I've done, so here goes.

Jade and Charlie are currently roleplaying the Haunted Mansion. Jade has taken on the role of Constance, previously known as the Attic Bride. (Disney Imagineers gave her a name relatively recently, at least in Anaheim.) Charlie is playing Charles Gracey, then nephew of George Gracey. Within the roleplay, it was George who hung himself and is the one you see in the stretching gallery ("... there's always... my way..."). The above scene is the end of the description of how she died, in her own words.

Please don't tell me I used Aurora as a model. I mean, duh. I was there. I was the one who paused the DVD. I ended up flipping the image in the horizontal, because Jade/Constance would have ended up left handed otherwise, and while that's not a bad thing, per say, neither is it accurate. Anyway, I've always loved the scrollwork that is Aurora's curls, and this image of her has always stood out in my mind, even as a small child, so this seemed the perfect opportunity to use it as my model, and to copy her gorgeous hair.

Nice above shot.
That would actually be the story of the first Attic Bride (Not the bride with the Beating/Bleeding Heart). She didn't have a story like the other two after her; so you don't know what or why she was there.

This was a picture from a roleplay that was vaguely based upon the Haunted Mansion.

Thanks very much! Yeah, this is based on a role play where the "Attic Bride" and Constance are basically the same character, and I chose to go with the more tragic angle of the earlier bride rather than the murderous one of Constance.

The composition of this is so beautiful, if tragic.

The Haunted Mansion is one of my all time favorite of the Disney rides.
Excellent job on both the picture and the backstory, it really gives new meaning to Constance.

I love this. *Favs*

Why thank you! I'm guessing from your SN that you're rather fond of that attraction, and that character from said attraction. ^__^ Thanks for the fave!

I love the use of lighting, and the way she fills the upper half of the frame. I really love the detail of the light source showing up on the glass. Great work.

I think that a detail like that is a treasure to find in a picture...plus it's one of those elements that maybe not everyone will see, but that they would notice something was off or wrong if it wasn't there.
