Hi,

I was trying to be productive today, but another contest grabbed my attention this afternoon!

This one is all about cute news anchor people, reporters and weather presenters.

Well, unusually, an image came to mind immediately! I even had in mind the artist's style I wanted to have a bash at - Austria born Erik Sokol (1933-2003). It was reported that Erik always had a keen interest in art growing up and began his studies at a Viennese art college. After graduating uni, he moved to the US in 1957. He began working for Playboy in 1958, initially hired to 'understudy' their star cartoonist. Unhappily, the cartoonist committed suicide only a few months later, so Erik got his chance at a fully paying job. He remained a major contributor to Playboy until his death from cancer.

Erik was highly regarded by his peers and was equally at home doing satirical cartoons for his native Austria. He won a million awards for his art and was awarded the title of Professor in Austria too! An author, sportsman, company director and artist - he was a man of many talents. I hope to revisit his art style again someday soon.

So, here's one legged Velma. Caught in a moment of chilling in the newsroom.
