Description
This is my version of Pre-Colonial Philippines. Before the Philippines was colonized by Spain the Philippines was graced with many names. Ancient Chinese called the Philippines Ma-Yi meaning land of gold. As well as Chinsan meaning gold from the Chinese traders. While Claudius Ptolemy a Greek mapmaker named the islands in his map Maniolas.
But I'll call her Ma-Yi

I gave her tattoos since in Pre-Colonial Philippines, tattoos were a symbol of beauty (for women) and marked them as warriors (for men). I gave her huge gold earrings because Pre-colonial Filipinos were very fond of ornamenting themselves with gold. They even inserted gold in between their teeth!
Another account stated that ancient Filipinos bathed themselves in gold.... XDDDDD
I gave her a sword because in Pre-Hispanic Philippines, women were equal to men and could hold positions in power as well as lead a tribe.

Also, according to my History class, Portugal was the 1st European country to come in contact with the Philippines. Not Spain! XDDDDD

I'm so inspired to draw Hetalia comics because of my awesome History professor! But there's really no time!!! *SIGH*
