Description
This was my second of two entries for ellastasia's "Oriental" contest. [link]Please stop by and view all the awesome entries!
Closed, didn't win anything. 
Not actually a bush, but a very old Sakura tree blossoming at the Japanese Gargens in Portland, Oregon...it's thousands of pink flowers set aflame by the golden light of a setting sun.

I've been told it's a Sakura/Cherry Blossom tree that doesn't actually grow cherries...just the blossoms. Could they be right?

Its beautiful! Oh I'm so jealous. >w< I'd love to be able to photograph a cherry tree like that. But nobody in my area has any nice ones like that.

Thank you so much Vicki. Actually not many people have trees like this here either. This is a very old tree, nurtured by Japanese gardeners so it's unlike any that most people here would have either, if that makes you feel any better.

i dont know about leeenya's sakura's, but sakura's are what japanese call japanese cherry blossom trees. Wich a nice little fact is japanese cherry blossom trees dont grow cherries lol.

kinda odd but its true they dont grow cherries or anything just the flowers in the spring wich blossom for a week and then fall off and then its just leaves.

Thank you so much Christine! I'm simply amazed at how twisted the branches get on these maples. I also realized I had it set to display too small....so I've made it much larger so you can see it's gyrations better now.
