I've been told it's a Sakura/Cherry Blossom tree that doesn't actually grow cherries...just the blossoms. Could they be right?

They're right I think.Sakura trees don't grow cherries.

Sakura tree and cherry tree are two different kinds of trees.

Its beautiful! Oh I'm so jealous. >w< I'd love to be able to photograph a cherry tree like that. But nobody in my area has any nice ones like that.

i dont know about leeenya's sakura's, but sakura's are what japanese call japanese cherry blossom trees. Wich a nice little fact is japanese cherry blossom trees dont grow cherries lol.

kinda odd but its true they dont grow cherries or anything just the flowers in the spring wich blossom for a week and then fall off and then its just leaves.

Tehehe big japanese buff and i love the tree's. My dream is to have my wedding pictured to take place in a Sakrua Tree feild.

Thank you so much Christine! I'm simply amazed at how twisted the branches get on these maples. I also realized I had it set to display too small....so I've made it much larger so you can see it's gyrations better now.
