well in general water is linked to emotions - I use the site to help get the basics of my dream but ultimately figure out the true meaning on my own

Oh yeah. Those dreams are so annoying.. but then again I've never had a dream with true 'closure' they always end on a bad note or sometimes a cliffhanger. I was disappointed because the other day I was actually having an interesting dream (something about being in a barricaded house and trying to put out a fire and save little kids) but of course right in the middle I just HAVE to wake up.. C'mon brain! I was on an adventure.. So ..yeah..

Tidal waves represent bottled up emotions, overwhelming emotional issues that are trying to get your attention to wash them out..
That's would be its meaning it if you believe in dreams and meanings ;D
dreams fascinate me holy shit //// they are giant scary & rude puns

Omg lol yeah. Well I do have an issue with bottling up emotions and not really discussing my feelings with anybody. Maybe I should see a counselor
Dreams certainly are interesting! I do believe that dreams have hidden meanings to them. I used to keep a dream diary but stopped when I ran out of room in my notebook XD. I should do that again, it also helps me gather inspiration for my drawings

Thank you I personally think it just symbolizes my anxiety, and perhaps the fear of dying young. Or maybe it's just a subconscious fascination I have with the ocean? It is a mystery!

I have been having similar dreams since I was about thirteen. I have drawn some of the tsunamis I have seen. They are in my gallery if you are interested in swapping notes..
your image is very powerful and dramatic. I really like it.

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your tsunami dream paintings. I'm fascinated by such dreams. The next time I have a tsunami dream, I'll paint it and post it on DA.

Oh my gosh! I've not had much reoccurring dreams in my life, but that sounds terrible! I totally understand anxiety, I've gotten panic attacks in the past and they are awful! ;n;
I've had horrible dreams before. There's one that is so bad, I probably won't even mention it on here, it was so scary, it made me scream out loud in real life when I woke up. And I was 16 years old at the time, and not younger. I was so terrified of it... I didn't want to go back to my room and fall back asleep, because the dream was so bad. So I ended up staying up for a long while before passing out on the couch. I never, ever ever want to have that dream again... I'm so glad it's not reoccurring. ;u; But I think it was about self-identity, and loss of innocence, and corruption, and losing touch of who you are. I probably felt like I was being twisted up into a mess, and that I would shrivel up and die because of my suffering. So thus, the most terrifying dream on the face of the earth.
This picture however, is relateable by far. When haven't we felt like their was a giant wave that was going to take us? I'll be adding this to my favorites. Good luck on any future picture~

That sucks :c I hope you never have a dream that terrible again. I hate that feeling when something bad happens in a dream and you think "this can't be happening!" It is certainly relieving to wake up after that, though. x.x
Also thank you very much! I'll keep doing my best on future artworks. ^^

That sounds horrible. I've had plenty of times while surfing where I've been pushed under water by waves and almost drowned. It's scary stuff
I'm lucky that all my dreams just see seem to be varying versions of me going on weird adventures. *shrugs*
Though I don't want to think about the dreams I have mean. Something long the lines of going insane I guess. They're pretty jacked up

That sounds scary D: Whenever we go on vacation to North Carolina I always get my ass kicked by the waves, and all I do is play in the water. Surfing is definitely not for me! But yeah I understand, the human mind can be a pretty crazy place D:

This terrifies me. This is my worst fear, giant waves... *shivers*
I always have dreams about tornadoes, and trying to escape and running and going to the basement, things like that. A lot of close calls. So scary .-.

Tornadoes are scary too... I'm always wondering if this year will be the year our town gets mowed down by a tornado... ;-; I understand your fear!

I always used to fear that happening where I used to live (right on the edge of a tectonic plate, lots of earthquakes) and something like that was entirely possible there.

longestdistance In reply to SunnyN1GHT [2015-01-10 17:50:58 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I can definitely see that! What's unusual about my fear is that I live in Michigan.... away from any oceans or plate boundaries. XD

SunnyN1GHT In reply to longestdistance [2015-01-10 17:56:20 +0000 UTC]
Well it's normal for people to fear certain things and maybe because you're not around the ocean to much is why you're afraid and dreaming about it? You haven't experienced being by the ocean a lot so your brain just associates one fear you have (tidal waves) with any thought or dream you have of the ocean?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
longestdistance In reply to SunnyN1GHT [2015-01-10 18:21:14 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, possibly! I started having dreams about waves after going to the beach in North Carolina 7 years ago, and I guess it just kinda stuck with me. You could be right.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SunnyN1GHT In reply to longestdistance [2015-01-10 18:29:57 +0000 UTC]
Then that's probably it. Inexperience with the ocean combined with your fear of tidal waves gives you a tidal wave in any dream that involves the ocean.
