would you know if faux leather is good for making scabbards?

Sorry, never tried. There's not really any demand for it. It probably would be difficult, since it doesn't behave the same way.

Is this based on what Excalibur might have looked like?

I hate to be rude but the answer is no. Excalibur is described as with a design of two chimeras on the golden hilt; when the sword was unsheathed what was seen from the mouths of the two chimeras was like two flames of fire, so dreadful that it was not easy for anyone to look. In Alfred Tennyson, 1rst Baron Tennyson's poem Passing of Arthur (Last three lines: "For all the haft twinkled with diamond sparks, Myriads of topaz-lights, and jacinth-work Of subtlest jewelry." Excalibur, was an ornate sword, and very expensive. I don't think anyone's wallet with stretch to the necessaries of reproducing it accurately.

Nice. Is it one or two handed? Or hand and a half

Closer to a full two-hander, I believe. Been a while.

Wonderful sword with a hint of the legend over it. Really like those plain sturdy and so well made swords~ How long is this one? I just sense it would feel great to hold in hand.

From quite a while ago. Probably around 45 inches total. Everything is made to be used so they all have to feel great in hand

Naturally This is so far beyond a simple "wall hanger" (read: stainless steel, mass produced, and utter crap) the two cannot even be remotely compared.

Oh that's just about the length I imagined. It must be dancing in ones hands~

That is an exquisite looking blade. Is it worthy of live combat for medieval fencing? How much would a blade like that go for?

I make both sharps and blunts for actual heavy use, including use as wasters. Please e-mail me at odinblades@aol.com to discuss pricing. Each sword is custom so pricing varies and is better discussed in private.
