Description

Last DnD session we played as commoners owning a bar. We had to improvise what to do on the spot without pre-made characters since one of our regular party members wasn't present. We all wrote down what kind of role, a race and character traits - then we just pull the cards out of a bowl and that was your character.

First thing I pulled was the role of bouncer of the group. Then I got the race half-elf (so that was already a bit contradicting to the bouncer role) and after that I pulled the character traits "young and naive" - "insecure about his height" and "gambling addict". So that already made him the worst bouncer. While playing it ended up being the young boy that only got hired because his boss knew his famous father and expected someone strong and tall. I named him Kriral (a pain to prenounce) but other members soon started to call him "Krieltje" which is Dutch for small potato. He had to do all the shitty jobs and was mistaking for a girl several times by others. He misheard a customer and thought he wanted a broken vase for dinner.

Other characters in the party were

the tavern owner - who was obsessed with dragonborn and racist against thieflings. He pretended to be a dragonborn but was actually three gnomes under a long coat. He always listens to the cook, who is an actual dragonborn. He also is very talented in juggling and takes every opportunity to show it to his customers.

the cook - a very big grumpy dragonborn who absolutely hates the owner and is not a good cook at all.

the waiter - a dwarf who gets underpaid because he runs the whole tavern, by far the most serious one but also wants to touch everything that shines (including earrings). He yells the most at Krieltje.
