Thanks! No, there's no connection between the kid I drew and from character you mentioned from the movie.

I just thought a cute little blond kid next to the Tall Man would seem creepy.

Your welcome. Indeed adding the small kid is creepy and adds to your image. The more I look at your image the less sure I am what medium you created it in, was this by hand and colored on the computer or vector art?

It looks so much like a cartoon animation characters I did some digging and found plans for a Phantasm animated series, but it seems it never got anywhere. [link]

Yeah, I do everything on computer and the final inks are in vectors. They're inked and colored in Flash and sometimes colored in Photoshop. I do all my roughs in Photoshop.
