Nicely done here. The monochrome style of his appearance contrasts nicely with the flowers and the sword, those two symbolizing two conflicting means he lives with. Well composed too, I believe.

I think it's supposed to be obvious who the masked man is, especially when Lucas fights him the first time. The thing is, Lucas doesn't know until the end. Which, as you know...
I tell all of my friends who I make play Mother 3, "If you know a spoiler, keep it too yourself. 
Anyway, the contrast between black and white unmasked man and the glowing sword and flowers is so awesome. It created a really ethereal feeling. I feel like this is a sign of things to come in the final battle.

As obvious as Masked Man's identity is, it still sucked when it was spoiled for me on Starmen before playing the game.
