Thought I'd have a crack at this INktober thing (one ink drawing a day for October) and have decided to go with a Terry Pratchett Discworld theme.... Appropriately, I think, starting with the Cosmic Star Turtle, the Great A'Tuin, on which stands the four giant elephants that hold up the Discworld.

A tiny sun and moon spin around them, on a complicated orbit to induce seasons, so probably nowhere else in the multiverse is it sometimes necessary for an elephant to cock a leg to allow the sun to go past.
Exactly why this should be nay never be known.Β Possibly the Creator of the universe got bored with all the usual business of axual inclination, albedos and rotational velocities, and decided to have a bit of fun for once.

Perfect! A better quote than the one I used. His early books had fun descriptions of A'Tuin and travelling through space, but he kind of stopped it in his later books. I guess when you write 40 Discworld books you eventually run out of things to say about the topic

I loved all of his different descriptions, and the thought of an elephant having to cock it's leg to let the sun go past is...well, brilliant.

After millennia of talking about everything, the little ticks and the flies that are buzzing by and all the stars ''Oh, look! Another star!'' ''Mweh. I've seen that one before.'' - one has to wonder what else is there for elephants to talk about ... Personally, had an author put me in that position, I'd walk out in protest. Congratulations, for they keep carrying the World!

Absolutely amazing illustrations. I have all the Terry Pratchett books, the majority of them in hardcover. He is my favourite author and your illustrations are very reminiscent of the ones in the illustrated books. Nicely done

Aww, I wanted to make a Disctober oder Discember myself this year, but the project crashed with the realities of a tightly packed schedule. Will love to follow your inktober series and am curious how you envision certein characters from the Disc

I wonder if the great A'Tuin will tell T'Phon and co to get of his/her back once he/she reaches the mating grounds. Otherwise it will be a very long earthquake... I mean diskquake.

If you want a real challenge, draw Gaspode, the talking dog from DiscWorld.Β I don't think I've seen a single sketch of him that looks anything like his description in the series (basically a very sick dog held together only with willpower and magic).

You absolutely MUST do a portrait of Angua Von Uberwald (the lady werewolf cop) and Sally Von Humpeding (the lady vampire cop) from Thud! in their accidental stripper attire (from Thud!, which is the very best book that Terry Pratchett ever wrote).
