Space turtle, for the win!

A tiny sun and moon spin around them, on a complicated orbit to induce seasons, so probably nowhere else in the multiverse is it sometimes necessary for an elephant to cock a leg to allow the sun to go past.
Exactly why this should be nay never be known.Β Possibly the Creator of the universe got bored with all the usual business of axual inclination, albedos and rotational velocities, and decided to have a bit of fun for once.

I loved all of his different descriptions, and the thought of an elephant having to cock it's leg to let the sun go past is...well, brilliant.

After millennia of talking about everything, the little ticks and the flies that are buzzing by and all the stars ''Oh, look! Another star!'' ''Mweh. I've seen that one before.'' - one has to wonder what else is there for elephants to talk about ... Personally, had an author put me in that position, I'd walk out in protest. Congratulations, for they keep carrying the World!

I'm sure the job application read something like:
Wanted, Elephants of infinite patience and willingness to do uncomplaining support work. Must enjoy the outdoor and be comfortable around turtles.

Then it comes into view overhead, bigger than the biggest, most unpleasently-armed starcruiser in the imagination of a three-ring film-maker: a turtle, ten thousand miles long.

I like that quote better than the one I used... much more along the lines I wanted. Haven't read Equal Rites in many many years - something I clearly will have to rectify!

Loving this take on inktober and a great tribute to an amazing man. May his ripples continue to be felt.

I love that quote, "No-one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away"
Cheers!

I wonder if the great A'Tuin will tell T'Phon and co to get of his/her back once he/she reaches the mating grounds. Otherwise it will be a very long earthquake... I mean diskquake.
Nice job loops. Inktober sounds like fun actually. Might join.

If you want a real challenge, draw Gaspode, the talking dog from DiscWorld.Β I don't think I've seen a single sketch of him that looks anything like his description in the series (basically a very sick dog held together only with willpower and magic).

Gaspode is a tricky one, but I do plan to have a crack at drawing him for this InktoberΒ

Cheers! Its hard because everyone visualises the characters slightly differently, so I hope I don't disappoint.

You absolutely MUST do a portrait of Angua Von Uberwald (the lady werewolf cop) and Sally Von Humpeding (the lady vampire cop) from Thud! in their accidental stripper attire (from Thud!, which is the very best book that Terry Pratchett ever wrote).

Hadn't planned to draw Sally, but will see how I go.

She was a sadly under-utilized character. The snippy repartee between her and Angua was worth the price of admission, alone.
