“Susan says, don’t get afraid, get angry’ - HogfatherMore 'Not really October, Inktober' stuff. This time a personal favourite, Susan Sto Helit, duchess of Sto Helit and deaths granddaughter. If the layout looks familiar, its because I kind of 'cheated' and reworked the characters from my Hogfather painting... but I like the layout and it gave me a chance to fix a few things, even if it was just in black and white.
Brush, ink, fine liners. No coffee was consumed during the drawing of this piece.

Probably my favourite two Discworld characters... though I'll admit to always being a little disappointed we never got a proper teamup story with Susan and Ridcully.

No matter how many times I reread the books, or how much (correct) art of Susan I see, in my head she's always got black hair with a white streak, not the other way around. I think I mixed her image up with Polgara (from the David Eddings books) at a crucial moment and never got that unstuck... Thanks for another picture to set my silly brain straight!

A SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY, I SUSPECT. I SEE THE GIRL WRITES IN GREEN CRAYON ON PINK PAPER WITH A MOUSE IN THE CORNER. THE MOUSE IS WEARING A DRESS.
