i have MANY OPINIONS about Naruto and how bullshit it is and i'm honestly not super invested outside of a few bit characters but arrrghhh the fandom has suckered me back in at long last and i LOVE Naruto but i HATE it but i LOVE it ARGGH
Maito Gai and Rock Lee are basically my favorite characters, so it stands to reason that I'd fall head over heels for Rock Lee's teeny anxiety son, Metal Lee. He literally fights with the power of social anxiety how could i not love him
Boruto has yet to explain who Metal Lee's mom is (my money's on TenTen probably), buuut I headcanon that Rock Lee himself is the one that made Metal. Because Rock Lee is a trans man. Gaara is dad (well, a co-dad with Rock Lee, anyway). Yup. Sorry but those are just facts, I don't make the rules ladies and gents i just tell it like it is (I mean Metal Lee totally has Gaara's almond shaped eyes c'mooooon guyssss)
alternatively Rock Lee just spawned him asexually when he opened the eighth gate (of childbirth, presumably)

Similar hc: All of Team Gai is trans (Tenten & Rock Lee, Neji is NB). Neji & Tenten were together (they wanted grow old together and have kids), but after he died, Lee & Ten grew closer. Lee wanted to make it thru the Eighth Gate, so with her help, Lee got pregnant. Once they knew, Lee used a lot of chakra and (almost asexually) 'gave birth' to Metal. While not together, they co-parent Bowl Cut the Third and smother him with affection.
Metal tries to get his dad and the 5th Kazekage together, but both are painfully oblivious (with Gaara being demi). Meanwhile, he and his mom chill out and help with her ninja weapon shop. Sometimes, they'll all have dinner together at Ichiraku or father-son prepared hibachi. Some people find this set-up odd, but 'I am not human, I am the human embodiment of tenketsu' Metal Lee disagrees. That's just his life.

😢😭 I love Neji and he always struck a chord with me, so that's why I went with NB (like me) and the fact that it's pretty much confirmed that they're his parents seems a little odd. I thought that this seemed like a more reasonable alternative.
OMG YES, with he pretty much adopting this little bushy browed boy like "This is me so long ago. I'll be there to say the things I needed then that I didn't have" and being Team Dad™.

Came for the art, stayed for the title and description. I was never super big on following Naruto over the years, and got most of my information through reading snippets of the latest chapter now and again and my sibling informing me about what on earth was going on. I remember being quite fond of Rock Lee and Might Guy (his first fight with Gaara is still p iconic) and laughing when I saw Metal Lee because OF COURSE he would be a tiny Rock Lee.
Your style for Metal is just really adorable, but dynamic!! I could almost hear him yelling when I first saw the image, haha. Despite barely keeping up with Boruto, you've convinced me to 10/10 protect this little goober.

You silly billy, I don't hate the fandom! I hate the series itself. Because it is bullshit. In so very many ways, many of whom even the most diehard fan would agree with. From plot holes to filler fluff to underdeveloped characters, Naruto packs at least a dozen different flavors of bullshit. But I still love it, because one can enjoy media while still criticizing and analyzing it. I can love and hate it, because I can hold more than two thoughts in my head at once. Don't worry, friend, maybe you'll be able to do the same someday!
The fantastic thing about headcanon is that nobody's interpretation of a character holds more clout that another's. You can interpret Lee not to be trans, and I can headcanon him as trans, and neither of us is less valid in our interpretation. Headcanons don't affect canon material, so calm your titties, dipshit.

Metal Lee is basically the only reason I'd keep up with the show. So much of the ending was.... idk just stupid. It went down hill in part 2 and I still can't get over Sakura saying Sasuke doesn't have to apologize for anything he had done up to that point.

Delightful headcanon, not show canon. (Although one can note Lee's strikingly different design as a child. Little Lee wore flowing garments and wore his long hair in a braid: vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/na… . I believe he didn't begin transitioning til he was older.)
Although the fandom does posit a fascinating argument for Naruto being canonically trans. Something about the series creator Kishimoto saying Naruto has his face whiskers due to the Kyuubi scratching him in utero. Yet Naruto's two kids also have the facial whiskers, even though Kyuubi couldn't have marked them if Hinata was the one to carry them. Ergo, Naruto was the one that carried Boruto and Himawari. Ergo Ergo, Naruto (and Hinata, presumably) are canonically trans folk.....but hey, that's just a theory. A FAN THEORY. Aaaaaand cut~

I love your theory, although a long braid is common for men in Chinese culture. I'm not sure which culture did it, but I'm just saying it isn't as odd as you might think. And Rock Lee does look a bit feminine there so it might not be the Chinese hair braid thing.

Naruto...sigh...it had fun ideas but was unfortunately poorly executed... I feel like it could have been something if Kishimoto had more time to flesh things out...maybe... I dunno. It was one of the first anime/manga I ever watched/read so I finished the manga out of nostalgia (same reason I finished Bleach...ugh, that series after Aizen just gave me a migraine; and why is Dragon Ball still going?!). I stopped watching anime in general about the time Sasuke left Konoha with the Sound Four. So waaaay before filler and Shippuden which I never watched. The last chapter of Naruto was the most disappointing thing ever (I don't want pairings...I want resolution and there was none; and what was up with the random encroachment of the "modern" world?!). I have not touched Boruto (WHY DOES IT EXIST?! *head-desk*) and I will not touch Boruto because the magic of shinobi was destroyed long ago by Naruto himself. Still doesn't stop me from writing fanfiction though...guilty as charged.
You want shinobi? Read "Flame of Recca". Old school and awesome. Also magic. And there's a princess. Ah, I love the old school manga.
Also, I love your Pandoraverse. It's inspired me (along with the cringe pony) to screw the rules and create my own universes within fandoms and not fear "Mary Sues". Not sure if I've ever commented on one of your art pieces or not... Now I just want to hear everyone's headcanons for all the characters in the series.
Naruto was a big thing for me back in high school, before the anime got into the Shippuden phase and started going batshit insane and indecipherable. When I finally got caught up with all the episodes I started reading the manga online, and if I remember correctly I checked out right around the time Sasuke killed Itachi. I'd check in on it from time to time to see if it finally ENDED yet (because sometimes, good things need to END; I haven't actually read his series but take a tip from your brother dude!), got mad when Neji was killed off (why?????) and then I was pleased to see that it finally ended and there were babbies. I haven't checked up on any of this in a while, but has Himawari gotten any more screentime? I watched her rampage with the Byakugan and it was adorable. [Also, when is Boruto activating his Byakugan? He should be able to do that, right?]
On the subject of TenTen, I have my doubts that she has mothered any children in the nextgen. Personally, I SUPER shipped her with Neji, making me that much more upset when I learned he was killed off. When I read about TenTen's reaction to his death and her turmoil after the fact, it reinforced my feelings on the ship and made me think that, no, TenTen did not move on to someone else later in life. I'm not saying I don't support the notion, I would wholeheartedly accept it if it were confirmed, but it just doesn't seem like that is the case from what had happened before. Plus there was a lot of blatant parent dropping in that epilogue chapter. I must've missed something, because when the FUCK did Sai and Ino connect on a level more than her physical attraction that resulted in crotchspawn???
Was reading the comments here and saw you mention Hinata/Sakura. No joke, in my headcanon, Hinata and Sakura dated during the time skip, amicably separating once Naruto returned. Now since their husbands are so often absent, the two often take comfort in each other's company with lots of snuggles and kisses and the occasional sleepover. Naruto (and maybe Sasuke too; he's really damn absent) is aware of their relationship and is pretty accepting of it, even joining them in their activities when the very, VERY rare moment arises.
