speedpainting, trying out some new brushes and whatnotΒ Β Out of all the mane six, I find Pinkie Pie the most fascinating. She has this big, bombastic fun-loving personality, but it's just a jester's mask covering up her tiny, frail ego. From what we've seen in the show, it doesn't take much to shatter Pinkie's faith in herself and send her into a spiral of psychosis and depression. I wonder why? These are pretty dark themes for a kid's show. I'd love to see them explored more.

Oh man, this is old art. Hope it doesnβt bother you to hear compliments on really old art, but I think this is really neat! The specific soft painted lifeless look is something you either abandoned (unless Iβve missed art of yours, which is totally possible) or were just experimenting with and personally I think it looks really good. It evokes the emotions and expressions pop in a way that Iβm not sure more detailed styles can convey.

I've always found Pinkie Pie sensitive, even though she does well to hide it from her friends and the others around her. Part of me wishes they would've gone more into her depressed side, to show kids why you shouldn't hide your feelings. Though I do believe her smile for the most part is real, as well as her happiness, I can't help but feel like she has a piece of her that is full of fear that she'll be left behind one day by her friends (perhaps explaining why she tries to make friends with everyone possible) and doubt of their honesty and loyalty. I am personally interested in this usually happy character, who cracks adorable puns and would probably terrify me if she was furious at /me/.

I agree, Pinkie Pie is a very interesting character (and one of my favourites). I think we can assume she had a fairly repressed, unhappy childhood for her to become so easily depressed and convinced her friends will leave her. Poor little pink pony.

I've always found Pinkie to be incredibly fascinating as well. There are hints of her being schizophrenic, of her having hidden depression, of her growing up in an abusive/neglectful household, of her being hyper-empathic, and of her being bipolar, and yet she still skips and twirls and sings through her day. Canonly, the only thing we truly know is that her own self-image depends on her ability to make others happy. It makes her relatable, actually. I think a lot of us are hiding pain and sadness and self-doubt behind a smile.

It is so beautiful and the expression on Pinkie Pie's face makes me feel the need to comfort her. It is definitely amazing. I also like the texture. I agree that Pinkie Pie is an interesting character, and I like it when people portray her 'insecure side' well, not making her into a sadistic psycho killer or whatnot.

I agree with this, I read this fanfic once that pointed out something very interesting about Party of One. In the episode she believes her friends hate her parties, her very purpose in life. That's like your best friends telling you your worthless and unnecessary. Anyone would react badly to that.

Well. Not Just "Pinkamena" Personality, Pinkie's Character could be understand in multiple ways. But this point of view was always in Fandom's View only. Maybe she could somekind Β of "Nexus of Pony-Realities(Most Bright Fan Comics Pinkie Pie's' are actually this type)" or "Absolute Medium Type Mare(Ask Sombra-Pie tumblr used this conception)". But...always these were fan's ideas. So, possibilities of Pinkie's darkside character was always joke or nothingless in official show. I'm so sorry about that. It has so much possibilities inside.
Also, I am so sorry about "Pinkamena". I can understand how many fans were sorry about their desperation about loss chances to show pinkie pie's dark charactersΒ Β in offcial. But their desperation also chained Pinkamena some ways. I believe their was so many "Pinkamena" 's possibilities in many spectrums. Not just murderous or psychotic ways. She's not Β a just psychopathic murder mare. But most images what fandom think about "Pinkamena" was...made in ponies' death. I still love crookedtrees' Pinkamena. But she was just one of many possibilities of Pinkamena's'. But...In the end, that image becomes mainstream of Pinkamenas'. That was tragic.
Sometimes, I think Pinkie Pie was just too lonely and sad-ful mare. That's why she never want to be "Not Fun"or "Fun-less" in anytime. But what makes her like that? Now, official Pinkie Pie novel tells that her family was not so special. So we would never understand about that. Season one twenty fifth episode makes many question and little trauma in Fans(Even Adults!). And this Question never ends in our minds

It's about how Fluttershy is angry at Pinkie for what happened in Filly Vanilli and after she expresses that anger Pinkie takes it really bad and even tries to change herself in her own panic to save their friendship.Β
