For Star Wars Day, I was not expecting to do anything... until I saw the cover for the upcoming "Complete Saga" Blu-Ray box: [link]I thought it was a really cool idea, but I didn't like the fact that Luke, a character that has been shoved aside soooo often (these days, at least), is yet again shoved in the background with his BACK TURNED NO LESS! And why is he a ghost!? WHY IS ANAKIN AT THE LARS FARM? He didn't get there until Episode II!
so, with that in mind, I decided to do almost the same thing, but with the reverse in mind. Sadly I don't have the patience or stamina for all that nice detail seen in the official box, but I hope the overall picture looks a little more dynamic and does a little bit of a better job portraying both sagas - how I feel about them - and why it makes a bunch more sense this way.
Pay no attention to the feet... loook awaayyy...

...You know, if you hadn't mentioned the bit about the feet, I wouldn't have even looked back to check, let alone actually realised what you meant. Talk about reverse psychology.

this is beautiful, very painterly. i like your version better than the one on the box.
and i totally agree, luke doesn't seem to get enough love... which is too bad since he's my fav character.

The spanish edition is even more awful. The only HD audio track isn't the spanish one nor the english one, but... the german track!!! Fucking nonsense.

I like the sunset shading and the dust effects are done well. I love how the silhouettes are portrayed. Plus nice work on the characters, too.
I need to get back into watching this series again. It's been so darn long since I've seen them.

EXCELLENT job!
(It's that way around in the official art because it echoes the two iconic images of the characters - Anakin on the Episode I poster and Luke looking at the twin suns. There's also a nice dark side of the force metaphor in there somewhere.)

Oh! Soft, as in the colors and shading. All the colors fit together so well and that makes it look peaceful and... soft? lol, I fail at explaining things

Much bolder in color than the real one, and the brushstrokes help give it that sorta fantasy look. Glad to see the twin-suns included, and the Death Star is both a good representation of the bad guys throughout the movies and fills in a really empty space on the official cover.

but personnaly I don't like the idea of young Anakin walking near the Lars Homestead since he has not walked near it until Ep2, but eh.

(Most of the time) I find your "different take" on things very interesting/refreshing. Great job sir. I could hope for more detail on Luke's face but it gets the point across. I also like the Death Star looming in the background...

good. I'm not buying the Blu-Ray versions either, because I'm one of the "rebels" that want the original theatrical versions (intact, re-transferred, restored, untampered) along with the "special replacement" ones. At least on the ALIEN films, they have BOTH versions.
