Thanks! Well, we can trace from Artemis' lineage that she deserves to be moon goddess. Her family was a bunch of deities presiding over celestial bodies.
Apollo (her brother)was a sun god;
Zeus (her father), was the Lord of the Sky;
Leto(her mother), was the goddess of the light of day;
Asteria (her aunt, Leto's sister), was a goddess of stars;
Phoebe (her grandmother from Leto's side), was the Titaness of the moon;
Coeus (her grandfather), was the Titan of the axis of Heaven; and
Hecate (her cousin, Asteria's daughter), was the dark moon goddess.
