Just an idea I had for a bust-up shot of Nyxis.
NOW I remember why I don't shade my images like this anymore. Because it takes forever. XD
But it is pretty, yes! And thus worth the seven days I worked on it! <3

Why thank you! I attribute most of it to the acquisition of a tablet, which lets me focus more on the techniques since I'm not struggling so much with how hard it is to get lines where I want them to go!

I'm using a wacom bamboo fun tablet. I have had it for five years now and it has served me well!
And the shading here was just me having some fun with variations of gradient shading!

I'm going to start using more photos that I take myself in my images, since I've found that I really enjoy the character-and-real textures mix!

THE SHINIES WERE A PHOTO OF SOME GLITTER PAPER I HAVE IN MY ROOM. I don't think I could successfully draw all those sparkles by myself without getting angry about how long it would take. |D
