Thanks. I've been thinking doing an updated versionΒ when I get around to creating a Windows 7 virtual machine. I use Windows 8.1 now, which as far as I know, you can't change the boot logo/screen quite as easily. I have the logos and such. I'm using an AMD FX-8320 overclocked to 4.4GHz and a HD7950--hoping to get a R9 280 (which I could crossfire with the 7950) or R9 280X soon since the prices have dropped (AMD dropped the prices because of Bitcoin mining).Β

How do I make such boot animation? Can you share a tutorial?

I'd probably have to make a tutorial. The way I make my boot screens is completely my own idea combined with years of experience with Sony Vegas Pro and Photoshop, and I didn't use any tutorials or anything to make it. ^.^

Nice work, sorry for late comment. I put these boot screens in a folder to look at later and forgot about them until now.

Sorry to double post, i mean to also ask, how can i fix the aspect to more suit widescreen?

I don't think it can be done from within the updater - I think it's more to do with the developer end. Unfortunately, I deleted the project files a long time ago now, so there's no way of fixing it.

I'll have to see about making a AMD Vision boot (no promises).

As far as I'm aware, there are no tools to change the boot screen for Windows 8 - I imagine someone will make a tool like for Windows 7 once Windows 8 is out officially (probably late this year or early next year).

Same here, loving AMD. I switched over from Intel, November of last year (going from a Core2Duo to a Phenom II x6 1090T BE). I switched over to ATi/AMD video cards back in 2009 when I needed an upgrade to play Batman: AA.
I don't think I'll ever go back to Intel/nVidia.

How well does that perform? I've often thought about building a HTPC with a A8 series APU, but you can hardly trust benchmarks when they're more synthetic than real world.

Sorry I never go on DA so I apologize for the late reply
The A8 is an amazing chip. Quad-core, light on the battery life, and for gaming: I can play Portal 2 on all maximum settings and experience only a few slowdowns.
The processing power is mediocre at best though, not as good as an i5 but still good for me. It's also easily overclockable with k10stat (yes I'm talking about overcocking on a laptop here), up to 3.0 GHz at max voltage (with new thermal paste the max temperature is 80-81 C)
The definition of an HTPC is really vague to me I honestly don't know what people want to do on their HTPCs outside of watching movies and stuff, games?

LordReserei In reply to Bitech [2012-06-18 04:45:41 +0000 UTC]
Thanks. Well I wouldn't be gaming on the HTPC - the point of it is to have something that has low power consumption, low heat and is quiet while having the necessary processing power to playback HD content whether over a network or using internal storage.
So an AMD A8 series APU is pretty much something desired by a lot of people where that is concerned, especially with the integrated GPU which means form factors can be smaller.
I'm looking to put together something along the lines of;
- Windows 7 Lite (personal build, RT Se7en Lite)
- ASUS F1A75-M AMD Hudson D3 (Socket FM1)
- AMD A8-3870 (with HD6550D)
- 8GB DDR3 1333MHz(have two modules laying around)
- Kingston SSDNow V100 64GB (upgrading to a 120GB SSD soon, recycle my current one)
- Cooler Master Elite 360 HTPC Case
- Generic 500W PSU
I wouldn't bother with an optical drive. Everything would be streamed over my network, from a thumb drive or on the SSD.

I've had that issue before. I was never able to find a solution although at one point I did send a message to the developer who stated it was a bug of some sorts.
After re-installing Windows (I needed to for an unrelated reason), I was able to to use it.
