Description Goddess of war, destruction, plagues and protection, Sekhmet is the Eye of Ra created by him and unleashed on humanity as the embodiment of his wrath essentially making her the Egyptian left hand of God. She is one of the most powerful deities in the Egyptian pantheon (her name literally means "The Powerful One") and emerged from Ra's eye which he pulled out as a means of punishing mankind for lapsing in their religious duties. The problem, however, was that Sekhmet's bloodlust proved to be insatiable and continued her killing indiscriminately until she had almost wiped out all of humanity, spitting fire across the earth. Ra and the other gods managed to stop her by providing pots of human blood that had been spiked with alcohol which Sekhmet drank until she passed out. While unconscious Ra was able to remove some of her power and when she woke she was a more controlled goddess dedicated to protection rather than genocide. Don't be fooled, her wrath is no less lethal, just aimed more precisely, called upon to destroy without mercy those who threatened Ra and Egypt.

Her symbol is the sun disc and she is depicted with a lioness' head which she is associated with, her cult center being in Leontopolis.

Also known as: Sachmis, Sakhmet, Sekhet, Scheme along with some notably Metal titles: "Mistress of Dread", "One Before Whom Evil Trembles", "Lady of Slaughter" and "She Who Mauls" \m/
