I collected Guardians of the Galaxy comics from the first incarnation to the 90's version. The movie version most are familiar with was made up of some random Marvel characters. Here are their original incarnations in my style. (Except Yondu, his costume is the 90's version).Related content

Love seeing them all in their original costumes. And while these are cool characters, the ORIGINAL Guardians of the Galaxy (Vance, Charlie, Yondu, Martinex, Starhawk, Nikki) will always be my Guardians of choice.

Agreed! They are my line up too! I hoped with this recent debacle, since the "revamp" is inevitable, we might get Stallone as Starhawk and the other original guardians as seen in GoG2. That way, the "new" team will be absorbed into the MCU and we might get an entirely new franchise with Charlie-27 et al.)

Given how the majority of the current Guatdians cast doesn’t want to work without James Gunn, revamping the team to better reflect the Classic Guardians makes sense to me.

That’s what I mean. They’re all behind him, and don’t want to work without him. So Disney would be forced to replace them if it sticks to its corporate guns, and what better way than to basically just go with the original Guardians.

I think I came into GotG in the 90's. I have maybe read 2 of the old stories.
Part of me was actually angry when the characters of modern GotG were brought together, but, that was just me being a cranky old-school Marvel fan raging at the franchising machine.
(And boy did Marvel push the Guardians! Like for 3 solid years before the movie came out!)
Eventually, I actually came to like these guys, though.
